Framing the future – EngageMedia in 2013

In June 2012, EngageMedia co-founded the Video4Change network with 14 other organisations. This year, we’ll be working with the MIT Center for Civic Media and Open Documentary Lab to research how social-change video creates impact and how that impact can be measured. We’ll also be developing v4c.org as a umbrella space for the network, as well as adding a host of video4change guides and tools.

video4change Retreat and Sprint Highlights

From 2 – 9 June 2012, EngageMedia and WITNESS co-hosted a video4change retreat and sprint attended by 13 other organisations doing work in the area of using video for social change.

EngageMedia Melbourne Office Space for Rent

We’re looking to share part of our central Melbourne office space. We’re right in the middle of the city, near Bourke and Swanston. Rent is just $220 a month plus GST for 2 desk spaces, internet, and all bills.

EngageMedia visits Boston

In December 2012 I did a series of talks at the MIT Center for Civic Media and Berkman Center for Internet and Society at Harvard. The talks delved into the work of EngageMedia and also the nature of citizen video, video4change and the Southeast Asia landscape. Video from two of the talks are linked to below.

Cerita Buruh Migran Launch and Screening

In March 2012, supported by Tifa, EM started working with Indonesian migrant workers to increase their capacity in video making and distribution to support their campaign.
