The 9th Internet Governance Forum (IGF) was held from September 2–5 this year in Istanbul, Turkey. Around 3000 people from governments, intergovernmental organizations, private sectors and civil society from all over the world attended.

Over 25-27 August in Yangon, Myanmar, EngageMedia partnered with the Southeast Asia Technology and Transparency Initiative (SEATTI) and the Myanmar ICT for Development Organization (MIDO) to conduct an Open Government Training on technology, transparency, and accountability.

Over 2 weeks in early July, EngageMedia’s Lingua Coordinator, Seelan Palay, traveled across 3 provinces in the conflict zone of Southern Thailand, and to the capital city of Bangkok, conducting workshops and presentations on video distribution and online subtitling (using Amara) to activists, video makers, students, migrant workers, and the independent media.
