Manus Island and Australia’s Asylum Policy

The violent breakout at Manus Island detention center in Papua New Guinea are making the headlines this week after one asylum seeker was reported dead and 70 others injured. In the first half of 2013 over 15,000 asylum seekers were estimated to live in this offshore processing facility awaiting the result of their asylum application in Australia.

Karmadi’s Story
